Is God calling you to do something that seems to be hopelessly impossible? If so, what’s going through your head right now?
Are you excited and thrilled about the path ahead?
Or are you scared to death?
So often when the impossible looms, all we want to do is tuck tail and run.
But don’t worry, you’re not the only one who feels this way.
All great leaders go through this time of self-doubt and uncertainty.
Many times in life we sound just like Gideon in Judges 6 when he was confronted with the great task of leading Israel into battle.
Admit it, how often do you wonder where God is in the midst of an overwhelming challenge? You’ve seen Him work in the past, but you think it has been a long time since He’s showed up and showed off in your life.
It is in these moments that God reminds us that we will be successful because we have been sent by God—and that we are not alone.
But often like Gideon, we still don’t buy into it. We do what Adrian Rogers warned against: we only frame those truths in our tiny home offices instead of applying them to our lives. “God’s promises are not mottos to be hung on a wall. They are checks to be taken to the bank and cashed.” Adrian Rogers
We doubt our ability. We doubt our brains. We doubt our background credentials.
But God rarely calls the qualified. There is nothing that God likes more than a good challenge, so He can show the world what He can do.
God knows that He gets all the glory when the impossible is accomplished through someone the world would label as being impossible.
What about you? Are you ready for the challenge that was once issued to D.L. Moody? “Moody, the world has yet to see what God will do with a man fully consecrated to Him.” Henry Varley
Make that choice.
Be that man or woman.
Give God your all and watch Him accomplish His will through you.
