Authors are comfortable navigating the waters of print publication, but what about online publication? Today at DuoParadigms, we’re taking a look at 13 different examples of good author websites and pointing out what these authors are doing well to reach new readers on the internet.

Elizabeth & Jim George

What We Like: The carousel of new and upcoming books is helpful, plus the email subscription linkage is prominent at the top of the header.

Robin Jones Gunn

What We Like: The colors! They match perfectly with the branding of her Sister Chicks series.

Max Lucado

What We Like: This site has loads of content, which is what you should expect in an author website. Plus, Max makes a point of featuring his personal blog.

Francis Chan

What We Like: Two words….minimalist and classic.

Beverly Lewis

What We Like: Her website perfectly matches the brand that she’s established with her books. Always a good thing for an author.

Josh McDowell

What We Like: One of the things that caught our eyes at Josh McDowell’s website was the domain name! Simple is always best—and easy for people to remember!

Andy Andrews

What We Like: This site is well laid out and easy to navigate. We also like the strong emphasis on good typography.

Stormie Omartian

What We Like: Stormie Omartian knows her target demographic and her site is designed to appeal to ladies. We especially like the swirls!

Dr. Henry Cloud

What We Like: The color scheme is appealing, plus his slider is well designed to showcase his most popular works.

Karen Ehman

What We Like: This site is just plain fun! It serves as a great introduction to Karen, makes you want to get to know her better, and read her books!

Patsy Clairmont

What We Like: Patsy Clairmont is one of Aaress’ favorite speakers and authors, and she loves that the site is clean and inviting. We’d like to pull up a wicker chair on her porch and chat for a bit!

Ann Voskamp

What We Like: It’s not often that we come across sites with double sidebars, but Ann Voskamp’s site makes it work well. That’s no small thanks to the wide middle content, which is rightfully the emphasis.

Joel Rosenberg

What We Like: Here’s another one of Aaress’ favorite authors. She really likes how he lays out his books toward the bottom in an attractive slider. By the way, The Copper Scroll is a book that you just can’t put down.
