Does this sound familiar? You know you need to update your nonprofit organization’s blog, but you have zero inspiration for a topic?

Look no further!

These blog post ideas for nonprofits are perfect for when you have writer’s block or just need a little extra inspiration!

1. Write about the history of your organization.

It’s easy to assume that everyone knows about the roots of your organization, but that’s not always the case. Take them on a fact-filled and engaging tour of the history behind your nonprofit. Don’t forget to include the old pictures!

2. Write about how your nonprofit has made a difference in your community that month.

You can write a blog post about how your organization is making a difference, right here and right now. This type of content is awesome for updating your blog, plus it can easily be repurposed in an email newsletter, too!

3. Write about someone your organization was able to positively impact.

Ask permission from someone your organization has blessed to share their story. You can do it in story narrative, or even do a Q&A style interview. Q&A interviews are easy to facilitate by phone or by email.

4. Write about your nonprofit’s goals for the future.

Share your heart—and your vision for the future—with your online audience. When you are able to help them catch the vision, they’ll be eager to help support you.

5. Write about your team.

Once a month you can profile a different team member on your blog. You can share a mini-bio, their favorite Bible verses, the heartfelt reason why they decided to join your organization, and much more.

6. Write about your upcoming events.

Do you host an annual fundraising gala? Or perhaps a golf tournament? Share all the pertinent details on your blog. Not only will this give you great blog content, but you can also have a link handy to share when someone emails for more information.

7. Write recaps of your past events.

On that same note, don’t forget to post about your successful event afterward! You can share attendee feedback, highlights from the keynote speaker, and don’t forget to include pictures. Lots of pictures!

8. Write about why your community needs your nonprofit.

Ask yourself this question: What would happen to X (a people group/community/cause) if our nonprofit ceased to exist? Your nonprofit has a special God-given role to play, so share in your blog post about the deep need that your organization helps meet.
